Hello! I’m Jolène — founder, Director, lifelong fun-maker and the person who started JoJoFun 20 years ago.

I’ve always been the adult who ends up sitting on the floor with the kids.

Even before JoJoFun existed, I naturally gravitated towards children, games, laughter and that wonderful kind of silliness that happens when people stop worrying about how they’re supposed to behave and simply have fun together.

When I had my first daughter, spending my days playing felt completely natural to me. Somewhere along the way came the thought: perhaps I could do this for other children too.

And that little idea became JoJoFun.

Why Fun?

Because fun connects us.

Some of my earliest memories are of being the clown — making people laugh and then wanting to make them laugh even more because seeing people happy made me happy.

Twenty years of JoJoFun haven’t really changed that.

One of my favourite things is still that tiny moment when you connect with a child, look into each other’s eyes and suddenly you’re both laughing. No big production. No complicated reason.

Just connection.

I’ve always believed there is something incredibly powerful in that.

What Makes a Great Entertainer?

I don’t believe being a children’s entertainer is simply about learning how to twist a balloon, perform a magic trick, sing a song or lead a game.

Those are skills. They’re important, but they’re not the whole thing.

The real gift is being able to connect with your audience — particularly with children. It’s warmth, energy, instinct, playfulness and the ability to walk into a room and genuinely want to be there with them.

That’s something I’ve always looked for in the people who become part of JoJoFun.

The People Who Inspired Me

My greatest inspiration in life has always been my children.

Watching children absorb the world and reflect it back through their own completely individual perspective has taught me an enormous amount about curiosity, imagination, honesty and simply being yourself.

As an entertainer, I’ve also been inspired by people who understood the power of laughter — particularly Robin Williams and Patch Adams. The idea that laughter, joy and human connection can genuinely affect how another person feels has always resonated deeply with me.

From One Entertainer to JoJoFun

JoJoFun grew from my own love of entertaining into something much bigger than me.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with an extraordinary collection of entertainers, performers, artists and wonderfully creative people.

One of the things that still brings me the most joy is connecting those fun-makers with people who want to have fun.

That’s really what JoJoFun does.

We bring people together to create moments they remember.

From Living Rooms to Abu Dhabi

Twenty years of entertaining leaves you with quite a collection of stories.

Some of my favourites are the smallest ones — children gathering closer and closer because they’re completely caught up in what’s happening, the look of surprise on a little face, or an entire group suddenly bursting into laughter.

And then there are the stories that are slightly harder to believe.

One of the most extraordinary was being flown to Abu Dhabi to entertain a princess at her fifth birthday celebration, with my family joining me for a ten-day visit courtesy of the Royal Family.

That was definitely one of those moments when I thought, “Well… this children’s entertainer thing has taken an interesting turn.”

What Do I Want People to Get From My Work?

Pure and simple fun.

That’s it.

I care deeply about creativity, connection, self-discovery and bringing more love and joy into the world. But sometimes we don’t need to make fun complicated.

Sometimes laughing together is enough.

20 Years Later…

I’ve changed. JoJoFun has changed. The world has certainly changed.

But the thing at the centre of it hasn’t.

I still believe in bringing people together. I still believe in the extraordinary creativity of children. I still believe that a brilliant entertainer connects before they perform.

And I’m still endlessly curious about what JoJoFun can become next.

On a warm beach.
